Year 12 Cardiff University Trip

The first ever cohort of Henley Bank Sixth Form embarked on a trip to Cardiff University on the second day of Year 12.

By visiting a Russell Group university so early on in the year, we wanted to show students one of the many brilliant destinations they could aim for after completing their A Levels.

We were lucky to have an excellent speaker from the university give two talks, one focusing on Further Education and the other focusing on the benefits of studying at Cardiff University specifically. These talks were informative and set the scene for our students who have aspirations to attend university.

Also, students were lucky enough to have current students give them a tour of the city centre campus in Cardiff and then answer questions in a session afterwards. These personal responses and experiences helped our students gain an insight into what studying at such a prestigious university entailed.

Despite some slightly soggy Cardiff weather, the Class of 2026 had a fantastic day exploring the campus and learning about the opportunities studying at a Russell Group university can provide!

Well done on an excellent start to your year, Year 12!
