Henley Bank High School

Ten Tors Weekend

Year 9 and 10 Ten Tors Weekend has begun!

The training began in November 23 starting with a fitness test where approx 30 students took part. This was followed by navigation training in Brecon Beacons and three weekends in Dartmoor building up the students confidence in navigation skills, working as a team, understanding what kit is required as well as getting used to carrying their full backpack. They have experienced all types of weather that Dartmoor threw at them.

We have now reached the final event and the students are on their way to Dartmoor to prepare for an early start tomorrow morning.

6 students from Year 9 and Year 10 will be participating in the Bronze Challenge walking 35 miles and one of our Year 10 students will be joining students from other Greenshaw Learning Trust schools to take on the Silver Challenge walking 45 miles.

We would like to save a huge thank you to Mr Haseler, Mr Gailey and Mr Halliday for the many weekends that they have given up to enable our students to experience this fantastic event.

Everyone at Henley Bank wishes them the best of luck. Go and smash it Team Henley Bank.
